The story so far…
W.O.P.E.R. successfully stopped R.I.P.L.E.Y by convincing her that the only way to win a wargame was to never play. Something human-kind has yet to figure out. Since then W.O.P.E.R. was decommissioned and sold off to a third party. R.I.P.L.E.Y. is still in use by the Americans, with special precautions put in place to keep her from becoming “self aware.” Recently new intelligence has been brought before the JCOS that W.O.P.E.R. has been re-instated after being reprogrammed, (with it’s “self awareness” still intact,) and is currently being used by European extremists to fight a guerrilla war on America’s own soil.
Operation Wargames
W.O.P.E.R. and R.I.P.L.E.Y will battle it out on May 30th 2009 to see which one is the ultimate war computer.
Shadow Pack is very excited to bring you Operation Wargames, a progressive game that will change yearly. This game encompasses an all day “game on” atmosphere, using command and briefing structure, as well as communication. There are numerous open ended objectives that can be achieved at any time. Player packets will contain the ruleset and the chain of command. Each commander will have his own player packet containing mission details and objectives to be given at the start of the game. Customized player packets will also be given to those with specific missions and backgrounds. Cost is $10 for general registration, and $12 for customized mission specific roles. Radios for squad commanders is mandatory. I hope to see you all there!

WARGAMES Official After Action Report
At approximately 0930 forces arrived on site to bolster both WOPER and RIPLEY forces for a total of 56 soldiers.
Both forces flooded the battlefield after being briefed by their respective CO’s. RIPLEY deploying first and locating the Secondary Communications tower before it was taken by WOPER forces.
At the same time, RIPLEY and WOPER were establishing their own forward Casualty Collection Point.
Both forces re-enforced their own Command Post, and were able to defend for the first half of the day.
RIPLEY and WOPER battled fiercely on the western slope while a small RIPLEY contingent moved along the east slope discovering the guidance module for the tactical nukes, but missing the radar station capable of deploying tactical airstrikes.
RIPLEY controlled the field for the first half of the day, discovering two of three parts for the tactical nukes, and cutting a hard line used by an inside mole to reveal RIPLEY movements and give Situational Reports to WOPER.
WOPER was able to recover Satellite Wreckage and locate the approximate location of the Radar Tower; however they did not act on this Intel. They were instead establishing a direct attack on RIPLEY’s CP. During this first attack they were able gather the code posted in the RIPLEY CP, photograph the CO and XO.
At the same time RIPLEY was having a hard time maintaining communications. RIPLEY was able to destroy the water supply for both WOPER and RIPLEY, and attempted to redirect the water supply at a closer location to RIPLEY. WOPER was able to stop the delivery of supplies, to rebuild the water supply, on route to RIPLEY and managed to rebuild the water supply to WOPER.
After several RIPLEY soldiers deserted, WOPER managed to get a good foothold of the battlefield and through excellent communication, achieved several objectives. It was during this time that the RIPLEY CO left his CP to get to a higher vantage point in an effort to gain better communication with his squads. His plan worked exceedingly well until WOPER was able to destroy the communication satellite at the RIPLEY CP. WOPER was also able to destroy RIPLEY’s supply bridge and recover the guidance module for the tactical nukes. WOPER also recovered the complete parts for one tactical nuke, and eventually the other two parts for the second missile, previously controlled by RIPLEY.
WOPER felt they had delivered a crushing blow to RIPLEY, until RIPLEY, after locating and rebuilding the radar station, launched an airstrike directly on WOPER’s CP. After this devastating hit WOPER, gained control of the radar station and launched it’s own airstrike near to their own CP to wipe out RIPLEY forces which were attempting to overrun WOPER’s CP. Both CO’s were killed during this exchange, WOPER’s by the airstrike, and RIPLEY’s by an assassin.
Both forces were able to take numerous photos with Bearclaw, and several data discs were recovered.
Both CO’s and XO’s were able to hold on to their data discs; however the Wildcards lost all data discs, while Shadow Pack maintained theirs.
With both sides recovering, RIPLEY decided to meet with Joshua, at Joshua’s urging, to share the launch codes for the tactical nukes. They met without any resistance, even though RIPLEY’s forces knew that it was really WOPER, and not Joshua.
Shortly thereafter, WOPER began the launch sequence. Both WOPER and RIPLEY CO’s were then immediately contacted by a mysterious voice identified only as ISSAC. ISSAC explained that WOPER and RIPLEY were deceiving the soldiers and attempting to eliminate mankind with a global thermonuclear war, WOPER and RIPLEY felt the only way to win this war was to eliminate the only beings that would start a war…mankind.
In a mad dash to stop this WOPER forces were able to disarm both nukes and recover this unknown new super computer. RIPLEY was only two steps behind… discovering a new ally…
